Bullet Train (film)

Bullet Train is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by David Leitch. The film is based on the novel Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka. It features an ensemble cast, led by Brad Pitt, Joey King, and Lady Gaga.

Not to be confused with The Bullet Train.

Premise

Five assassins find themselves on a Japanese bullet train, realizing that their individual assignments are not unrelated to the others.

Production

It was announced in June 2020 that Sony Pictures hired David Leitch to direct the adaptation of the Kōtarō Isaka novel.[2] Brad Pitt was cast to star in the film the next month.[3] Joey King entered negotiations to join in a role described as a supporting role on "a cameo level".[4] In September, Andrew Koji was added,[5] with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry joining in October.[6][7] In November 2020, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Lady Gaga, Logan Lerman and Hiroyuki Sanada joined the cast.[8][9][10][11][12][13] In December, Leitch revealed Karen Fukuhara had joined the cast, and that Jonathan Sela was serving as cinematographer.[14] Bad Bunny had also been added to the cast.[15]

Production for Bullet Train began in October 2020 in Los Angeles.[16] Filming commenced on November 16, 2020.[17]
