The CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) is a school of the City University of New York (CUNY). CUNY SPS is located in Midtown Manhattan at 119 W. 31st Street. CUNY SPS has additional administrative offices at 101 W. 31st Street.

History
In 2003, the Board of Trustees of the City University of New York created the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) with the purpose of meeting the educational needs of working adults, organizations, and employers.
CUNY SPS is CUNY’s first fully online degree programs as well as having online master’s degree programs.
In 2013, CUNY SPS opened a campus at 119 W. 31st Street in midtown Manhattan. The building contains 4 floors of classrooms, as well as administrative offices.

The following list contains the names of the CUNY School of Professional Studies programs that have been registered with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) under the CUNY Graduate School and University Center and assigned HEGIS code numbers in compliance with State requirements.
- Online bachelor's degrees in business, communication and media, disability studies, health information management, nursing, sociology, psychology, and more.
- In-person bachelor's degree in urban and community studies
- Master's degrees in applied theater, labor studies, disability studies, urban studies, youth studies and fully online master's degrees in data analytics, business management, disability services in higher education, and psychology and more.
- Credit courses in a variety of areas, including project management, immigration law, and healthcare administration
- Customized training programs for government agencies, unions, and nonprofit organizations
Centers and Institutes
John F. Kennedy, Jr. Institute for Worker Education
The John F. Kennedy, Jr. Institute for Worker Education supports workforce development initiatives in health and human services. The institute works with colleges, public and private employers, organized labor, professional associations, advocacy groups, community organizations, foundations and government agencies to:
- Design and implement collaborative worker education programs
- Provide career mentoring and college scholarships for exemplary workers
- Advocate for career ladders, health and educational benefits, and a living wage for frontline workers
- Support the employment of people with disabilities
- Conduct workforce research in related areas
Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies
The Joseph S. Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies, named after a former CUNY Chancellor who was a strong proponent of organized labor, serves the educational, policy and research needs of unions and their members and increases access to higher education as well as retention and graduation of union members enrolled in CUNY colleges.
