History
Cansojong is one of the biggest barangays in Talisay, situated near Talisay fishing grounds. It was named after a Chinese man, Sohong, who during the Spanish era owned and controlled a barter center in Talisay. He was known for his generosity, kindness and helpfulness. People referred to this particular area that was owned by Sohong as Kang Sohong which was later on named as Cansojong.
