Capco is a business and technology management consultancy firm with a focus on financial services and a dedicated energy division. Capco's headquarters are in London, UK with 29 offices across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The company offers services primarily in banking,[1] capital markets, wealth and investment management, insurance, finance, risk & compliance. It also has an energy consulting practice in the US.

History

Capco was founded in Belgium in 1998 by Rob Heyvaert as 'The Capital Markets Company NV', with offices in Antwerp, London, New York, and Frankfurt.[2] In 2001, the company rebranded to Capco, and the first issue of the Capco Journal of Financial Transformation was published by The Capco Institute. In 2015, Rob Heyvaert left Capco with Lance Levy taking over as Capco CEO.

Acquisitions

In 2007, Capco acquired City Practitioners Limited of London, U.K for an undisclosed sum.[3] In 2010, Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) signed a deal with Symphony Technology Group to buy Capco for approximately $300 million.[4]

In 2017, FIS sold a majority stake in Capco to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), a private equity firm based in New York, making Capco an independent company again.[5] FIS continues to retain 40 percent equity interest in the company.[6] In October 2019, Capco acquired Atom Solutions, a Houston-based IT firm.[7][8][9]

In March 2020, Capco acquired German-based digital consultancy Creative Construction.[10]

On 26 August 2020, Capco can utilize cloud-based, automated insurance solutions from INSTANDA to meet the transition needs of its customers. INSTANDA CEO & Founder, Tim Hardcastle was happy to confirm the collaboration with Capco.[11]
