Carla Pérez

Carla Pérez (born 28 December 1982) is an Ecuadorian mountaineer, and mountain guide. She is the first woman to summit both Everest and K2 in the same year (2019) and the first woman from the Americas to summit K2 without supplemental oxygen.[1][2]

Early life

Her father introduced her to the mountains at the age of 4. When he took Carla to a 14,000-foot volcano near their home at Quito, Ecuador, she was inspired to do mountain climbing.[3]
