Cecilio & Kapono

Cecilio & Kapono are a Hawaiian pop music duo formed in 1973 by Henry Kapono Ka’aihue (known professionally as Henry Kapono, born September 21, 1948)and Cecilio David Rodriguez (born January 1945). The duo released three albums on Columbia Records: the self-titled Cecilio & Kapono (1974), Elua (1975), and Night Music (1977). To date, the duo has released more than a dozen full-length albums which have incorporated various genres including Top 40 pop, modern soul, funk, disco, rock, and traditional Hawaiian.[1] Individually, the two artists have also released numerous solo recordings.

Cecilio & Kapono received the Hawai'i Academy of Recording Arts Lifetime Achievement Award for their work as a duo in 2009.

Cecilio's court cases involving minors

Cecilio was given a "deferred acceptance of not guilty plea" in Hawaii in 1994 on charges involving sexual contact with a minor. On 27 January 2012, he pleaded no contest to sexually molesting two young sisters in Los Angeles which occurred in the late 1990s and began serving his one-year prison sentence on 9 March 2012.[2][3]
