CECI has a reputation as an academically-minded secondary school. At one time the school was part of the International Baccalaureate Organization; however, that status is no longer recognized.[2] Central's current principal is Mark Flumerfelt.

  • Rachel McAdams (b. 1976), actress who appeared in numerous films
  • Joe Thornton (b. 1979), professional ice hockey player for San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, and the Canadian national team
  • Jaron Baker (b. 1997), Model who has earned representation from the prominent IMG Models and WIlhelmina Models agencies. He made his debut on the runway at the 2019 Dolce & Gabbana fall 2019/winter 2020 fashion show.
