Chad Christensen (Idaho politician)

Chad Christensen is an American politician and law enforcement officer serving as a member of the Idaho House of Representatives for the 32nd district, Seat B. He is a Republican.

Early life and education

Christensen was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, with an associate degree in criminal justice. He also graduated from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, with a bachelor's degree in political science.[1]

Career

A Mormon, Christiansen served on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in San Diego, California. He served 12 years in law enforcement, including as a parole officer and welfare fraud investigator. He is a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Military Police Regimental Association.[2]

He also belongs to the American Legion, John Birch Society, Oath Keepers, Idaho Farm Bureau, Idaho Second Amendment Alliance, and the National Rifle Association. He has been a hockey and baseball coach. He has worked as a high school and American Legion baseball umpire.[3]

In October 2020, Christiansen appeared in a video produced by the Idaho Freedom Foundation. Alongside Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin and other state legislators, Hanks criticized Governor Brad Little for the state's COVID-19 restrictions.[4][5]
