Chambal Expressway

Chambal Expressway is a proposed six-lane expressway in the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. The proposed expressway will connect the historic town of Kota in Rajasthan to Etawah in Uttar Pradesh alongside the Chambal River. The project will cover the towns of Sheopur Morena, Shampur, Ater and Gohad.[1] The proposed expressway measures 404 km.[2] [3][4][5]

Status updates
  • Dec 2018: Detailed Project Report (DPR) to be ready by February 2019.[6]
  • May 2020: Chambal expressway project to be revived again.[7]
  • Jul 2020: The proposed expressway will cost ₹8,250 crore and will measure 404 km.[8] Detailed Project Report (DPR) to be prepared soon.[9]
