Early life
Hackett was born in Melbourne and moved with her family to the Gold Coast at an early age. She attended St Andrews Lutheran College throughout her upbringing[3] and began her martial arts journey at an after school Taekwando program at eight years old.[4] By the age of 12, Hackett had achieved a junior black belt in Taekwando[5] and sought out a new challenge in the form of Muay Thai under the tutelage of 10-time world champion John Wayne Parr at his Boonchu Gym on the Gold Coast.[4] She then changed gyms to Southern Stars Muay Thai on the Gold Coast, when John Wayne Parrs gym pad holder Adrian Ormrod decided to part ways with the Parr family, because as Hackett stated "Adrian was actually my trainer". Shortly after this transfer of gyms, Hackett had a further fall out with Southern Stars Muay Thai and her family began a gym named "Wise Force" with another pad holder from Southern Stars. A year later the Hackett family had irreconcilable differences and the Wise Force team and separated ways. Hackett is now trained solely by her father.
At the ages of 15 and 16 Hackett won gold medals in the fully padded competitions held at the Junior IFMA World Muaythai Championships in both 2014 and 2015. Hackett later moved to professional Muay Thai amassing a record of 16-4-3, which included no world title victories and an attempt at the WBC International title. During the WBC international title bout Hackett illegally struck her opponent multiple times in the back of the head, whilst her opponent was on the ground - drawing a no contest. Consequently, due to this desire to strike opponents whilst they are on the ground, Hackett transitioned into Mixed martial arts full-time in 2019.
Mixed martial arts career
Hackett made her professional MMA debut in May 2019 for Australia's Eternal MMA promotion walked away with a majority draw that would have been a unanimous decision victory had she not been deducted a point in the first round for holding the fence.[6] She competed for the Eternal MMA promotion three more times over the following 12 months and was victorious in every bout. Hackett was then invited to compete in Dana White's Contender Series where she fought and lost to Victoria Leonardo in November 17, 2020 for an UFC contract.[7][8] This bout demonstrated Hackett's experience (or lack thereof), where Leonardo outclassed her using ground work, this led to a dominant win by Leonardo, who left Hackett unanswerable to Leonardo's grappling. The result was no UFC contract for Hackett and Dana White referring to Hackett as completely 'one dimensional'.
