Till September 2019, the train was usually hauled by a WAP 7 locomotive from the Royapuram Shed. However, after the Krishnarajapuram shed got WAP 7s transferred from Royapuram shed, the link has been changed to a WAP 7 from the Krishnarajapuram shed.
