Chitkara University is a private university located in Rajpura, Punjab, India. It offers undergraduate programs, post-graduate program and doctoral programs in fields like Engineering, Management, Pharmacy and other courses in Health Sciences, Nursing, Hospitality, Art & Design, Education, etc.[2]

History

Chitkara University was founded by the Punjab State Legislature under "The Chitkara University Act" in 2010.[3] The university comes under the establishment of the Chitkara Educational Trust[4] based in Chandigarh and founded by Dr Ashok K Chitkara and Dr Madhu Chitkara in 1998.[5]

Affiliations

Chitkara University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).[6] Relevant programmes are approved by the Council of Architecture (COA),[7] Pharmacy Council of India (PCI),[8] National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE),[9] Indian Nursing Council (INC)[10] and National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT).[11]

Campus

Punjab Campus, Chitkara University

Chitkara Educational Trust established the Punjab Campus in 2002 with initiation of Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology (CIET). The campus is spread over 50 acres, 30 kilometers from Chandigarh.[15]
