Playing career
He began his career at his hometown club Blackpool. "I was 18 when I made my first-team debut against Port Vale at home," he recalled to the Chorley Guardian in 2006.[2] "I then signed a two-year contract under Billy (Ayre)." He then moved to Hartlepool United and then Huddersfield Town, where he was a member of Steve Bruce's Premiership-chasing side.
He left in 2002 to join Rochdale.
Coaching career
He was the caretaker manager at Rochdale for a month, following Steve Eyre's dismissal in December 2011.[3] Rochdale lost three and drew three of the six games in which he took charge before John Coleman was installed as the permanent manager on 24 January 2012.[4] Beech returned to his role as youth team manager following the appointment.[5]
After assisting Keith Hill on an informal basis following his return as Rochdale manager on 22 January 2013, Beech was confirmed as Hill's new assistant manager on 16 May 2013.[6]
Beech left Rochdale along with Hill in March 2019 [7] Chris Beech was appointed Carlisle United Manager on the 26 November 2019. Beeches first first season at Carlisle ended ended with Carlisle united in 18th place in the League 2 table , however this was after the 2019-2020 season was suspended and subsequently ended with immediate effect with the final league table being defined by a points-per-game basis "BREAKING: Chris Beech joins United as Head Coach}". Carlisle United F.C. 26 November 2019.</ref> Then in the summer of 2020 Beech then set about the task of re-building the squad following the disappointing 18th-placed finish, bringing in a raft of new signings and developing a new football system . After a poor first couple of games of the season , Carlisles form improved and this improvement was mainly put down to Beech and the overhaul of new players brought into the club . Carlisle united as off 5th February 2021 sit 3rd in League 2 with 3 games in hand over the clubs above them .
