Colona, Colorado

Colona is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) located in Ouray County, Colorado, United States. The population of the Colona CDP was 30 at the United States Census 2010.[4] Ouray County governs the unincorporated community. The Montrose post office (Zip Code 81401) serves the area.[3]

History

The Colona post office was established in 1891, and remained in operation until 1943.[5] Colona is a name derived from Spanish meaning "colonist".[6]
