Cryptophis
Cryptophis is a genus of venomous snakes in the family Elapidae. The genus is native to Australia and Papua New Guinea.[1]

The following five species are recognized as being valid.[1]
- Cryptophis boschmai (Brongersma & Knaap-van Meeuven, 1961)
- Cryptophis incredibilis (Wells & Wellington, 1985)
- Cryptophis nigrescens (Günther, 1862)
- Cryptophis nigrostriatus (Krefft, 1864)
- Cryptophis pallidiceps (Günther, 1858)
Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Cryptophis.
Etymology
The specific name, boschmai, is in honor of Dutch zoologist Hilbrand Boschma.[2]
