Dario Borghesan
Dario Borghesan (born December 11, 1979) is an American lawyer from Alaska who is an associate justice of the Alaska Supreme Court.

Education and volunteer service
Borghesan received his Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Amherst College in 2002, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School in 2008 and served as a law clerk to Justice Daniel Winfree.[1] He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo from September 2002–December 2004.[2]
Legal career
He was a summer intern for Judge David G. Trager in 2006. From January–May 2007 he worked as a legal extern with the ACLU of Michigan. From May–July 2007 he worked as a summer associate with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. From September–December 2007, he worked in the Criminal Litigation Clinic of the University of Michigan School of Law. He has worked for the Alaska Department of Law in various roles including special assistant to the attorney general from September 2009–December 2010, as assistant attorney general handling civil appeals from December 2010–September 2018, and since May 2018, he has been the supervising attorney of the department's civil appeals section.[1][3] He was admitted to the Alaska State Bar on June 1, 2010.[4]
Appointment to Alaska Supreme Court
Borghean was one of eight candidates, which dwindled down four, who applied for the vacancy.[5][6] On July 1, 2020, Governor Mike Dunleavy announced his appointment of Borghesan to be an associate justice of the Alaska Supreme Court, to fill the seat vacated by the retirement of Justice Craig Stowers.[3]
