History

Founding and associations

Founded in 1987, Dayspring Christian Academy has been accredited[1] by both Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Middle States Association (MSA), and works in association with the Mid-Atlantic Christian Schools Association (MACSA), Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE), Middle States  Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA), Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference (CCAC), National Institute for Learning and Education (NILD), and the Nehemiah Institute.

Dayspring Christian Academy has 56 faculty and staff members, and enrollment is approximately 295[2] students.

Academics

The Principle Approach

As one of approximately 25 Principle Approach[3] schools in the United States, Dayspring Christian Academy teaches a classical Christian curriculum developed with the purpose of helping students think and reason from biblical principles and apply in their lives.

Students go on several field studies per year, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in what they have learned.

Dual Enrollment

Dayspring Christian Academy offers a dual enrollment program through a partnership with Cairns University.[4] The program allows students to earn up to 30 college credits before graduating from high school.

Varsity and Middle School Sports

Dayspring Christian School students have the opportunity to compete in multiple sports[6] throughout their student career as the Warriors. Varsity Sports include strength and conditioning, boys soccer, girls volleyball, golf, cross country, boys basketball, girls basketball, girls lacrosse, and track & field. Middle School Sports include boys soccer, girls volleyball, boys basketball, girls basketball, track & field.

Cooperative Sponsorship

Dayspring athletes can compete as members of McCaskey’s teams through a cooperative sponsorship with J. P. McCaskey, giving athletes the opportunity to pursue the following sports:

Events

Remember America

The Remember America Speaker Series[7] was created to remind Americans of their unique heritage of liberty that is founded on biblical principles. Previous speakers have included Mike Huckabee, David and Jason Benham, Alveda King, and Trey Gowdy as well as other notable guests

The Extraordinary Give

Dayspring Christian Academy participates in The Extraordinary Give.[8] Hosted by Lancaster County Community Foundation, The Extraordinary Give connects 501(c)(3) organizations to community donors.
