Debadrita Basu

Debadrita Basu (born 3rd October, 2001) is a Bengali TV and Theatre actress.[1] Although her career started with stage plays, she played the lead role in the Bengali serial Alo Chhaya. Her debut serial was Joyee.[2]

Early life

Debadrita Basu was born on 3rd October, 2001 in Kolkata, India. She is the eldest daughter of Sanjoy Basu and Shukla Basu, and the granddaughter of legendary football player and former captain of Mohun Bagan, Bidesh Bose.

Basu's acting career started with the theater group Ha Za Ba Ra La at age 8. While studying at school, Basu started the theater practice with her father.[3] Drohi Choitonnya was her first theater drama. She had an opportunity through auditioning to work on TV serials.

Career

Basu played the lead role of the serial Joyee on the Bengali channel Zee Bangla in Calcutta.[4]

Now she plays Alo Sengupta, the titular protagonist in the soap opera Alo Chhaya.

She was ranked #6 in the Calcutta Times Television's list of Most Desirable Women 2019.
