Zee Bangla

Zee Bangla is an Indian general entertainment pay television channel broadcasting in Bengali language. It is owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, as a part of the Essel Group.[1][2][3] It broadcasts Bengali-language programming, such as family dramas, comedies, reality shows, crime shows and telefilms.

It was the first Bangla television channel in India which launched on 15 September 1999.[4]

History

Zee Bangla was launched in 1999 and it is the first Bengali-language television channel in India,[5] Zee Bangla was launched in the year 1999.[5]

On 23 September 2012, Zee Bangla released its sister channel Zee Bangla Cinema as West Bengal's first 24x7 Bengali movie channel.[6]

The channel was earlier known as Alpha TV Bangla.[7]

The channel brand new identity was revealed during Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on October 7, 2018.[8][9]

It has its own YouTube channel which has over 10 million subscribers.[13]
