Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (DITRDC) is a department of the Australian Federal Government responsible for managing infrastructure and regional development policy, communicating policy and programs, cultural affairs, and arts.[4] The department was formed on 1 February 2020 from the Department of Communications and the Arts and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development.[5] The announcement of the merger of the two departments was criticized, being seen as an attack on the arts.[6] The department still retains the portfolios relating to arts.[7]
