Devudu
Devudu (transl. God) is a 1997 Telugu-language drama film produced by A. Gopinath, M. Venkatrao and C. Krishna Rao under the Sri Chitra Creations banner, directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Ramya Krishna, Ruchitha Prasad and music composed by Sirpi.[1]

Plot
The film begins in a village where a newborn child has left an orphan at the temple. Rayudu (Satyanarayana) a top-tier and kind-hearted declares him as a child of their village and calls him Devudu. Years roll by, Devudu (Nandamuri Balakrishna) grows up as a naive and gullible but shows hatred on marriage. He is beneficial to everyone and pulse to the village. Besides, Ganga Raju (Kota Srinivasa Rao) envies on Rayudu as he expunged his brother Linga Raju from the village for marrying twice. Once, on his visit to the city Devudu saves a girl Madhavi (Ruchitha Prasad) from the goons and she befriends with him. Meanwhile, Sarweswara Rao, MLA of that constituency who won many times with the help of Rayudu wants to contest again which he refuses as he breaks out in developing the area. Then, Sarweswara Rao leaves his daughter Shanti in the village and tells them that he will take back her after completion of all his promises. He also requests Rayudu to hide it from Shanti. During that period, Shanti loves innocent Devudu. Right now, Sarweswara Rao wins with the highest majority but fails to fulfill his words when villagers decide to punish Shanti. To save her Devudu takes her to the city where surprisingly, it is revealed as Shanti is the illegal daughter of Sarweswara Rao which no one knows. However, when Shanti threatens him with all proves of evidence, he falsifies her by telling that he will first introduce her in his constituency. But he double-crossed but left her at the mercy of villagers. At this point, Sarweswara Rao ploys by making police ride over their hotel. During that plight Shanti forces Devudu to tie the wedding chain around her neck which he does so as unbeknownst. Now Devudu & Shanti plan to abduct Sarweswara Rao's real daughter none other than Madhavi to accomplish developments in the village. Madhavi volunteers to go with them by learning the evilness of her father. At the same time, Sarweswara Rao gets an opportunity to become CM with the help of MLA Pundarikakshyya (Pundarikakshyya) with a deal to knit Madhavi with his son (Maharshi Raghava). So, Sarweswara Rao sends goons to bring back Madhavi when innocent Devudu again ties the knot to Madhavi to save her. Therefore, compelled Sarweswara Rao completes all the works in the region. Being cognizant of Devudu marrying two, Ganga Raju complains to Rayudu when he about to expel him the entire opposes. Perplexed Rayudu unaware of these marriages runs and sleeps inside the temple. There he gets an illusion of goddess and understands everything. In tandem, Sarweswara Rao onslaught on the village and abducts Rayudu and Madhavi and forcibly tries to perform her marriage with Pundarikakshayya's son. At last, Devudu ceases baddies and protect them. Finally, the movie ends with Shanti sacrifices her life while guarding Devudu and uniting him with Madhavi.
