Dhanial
Dhanyal (Urdu: دھنیال, or Dhanyal) is a tribe mostly residing in the surrounding areas of Islamabad, Pakistan. This is one of the largest tribes living in the Potohar Plateau and Lower Himalayas for the last eight centuries.
Area of origin
This tribe follows their heredity to Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Dhanyal tribe comprises of Hazrat Ali's descendants. Moaazam Shah eminent as Dhanni Peer is ancestor of Dhanyal Tribe. Dhanyals are not Fatmi descendants of Hazrat Ali (RazilAllah Anha). They have a place with Hazrat Ali's ninth spouse Hazrat Khola bint-e-Ayas bin Jaffar Bannu Hanifa. Hazrat Khola brought forth Hazrat Ali's acclaimed child Muhammad bin Ali known as Muhammad bin Hanfia.
The name 'Dhanyal' is gotten from Mohazzam Shah which was the name of chief and popular Sufi holy person of Lower Himalayas who moved from Dhanni (old name of Chakwal) in late twelfth century. Ancestors of Mohazzam Shah who were Arab Muslims, moved from Iraq into Multan during the period of Muhammad Bin Qasim. Desandants of Mohazzam Shah administered Multan state for around 190 years. Mohazzam Shah upheld Muhammad Ghori to check the exercises of Hindu Rajputs who forcefully assault Muslim army of Muhammad Ghori. Because of impact of Mohazzam Shah assumed name Hazrat Baba Dhanni Pir, numerous non-Muslims of this zone changed over to Islam.
Misconception

Dhanyal is not a Rajput tribe, which is common misconception among the people. Many notable people were affected by this misinterpretation and remember as rajpoots. Dhanyals are acclaimed for their boldness. Individuals from this tribe were selected into the multitudes of the Mughal Empire, British Empire and after Independence, into the Pakistan Army. After independance however the Dhanyals in metropolitan zones have gone to different fields, for example, education, medication, designing, business and sociologies.
