Career

2017-2019: Beginnings, record deal, Donny Womack, and breakthrough

Toliver began releasing music in 2017 on SoundCloud with his friend Yungjosh93. Together they released the mixtape Playa Familia on May 17.[7] In March 2018, he signed onto Atlantic Records and We Run It Entertainment. On August 2, Toliver released his debut mixtape Donny Womack. The following day, Toliver appeared on Travis Scott's third studio album ASTROWORLD (styalised in all caps) on the song "Can't Say" which was also accompanied by a music video. Three days after the album's release, Toliver signed to Scott's imprint label Cactus Jack Records. After being signed to the label, Toliver began to gain recognition from his lead single "No Idea" to his upcoming debut studio album.

A remix of “No Idea”, by DJ Purpberry, became a sensation on the app TikTok from November 2019. Another single "Can't Feel My Legs" was released as a lead to his album. On December 27, Toliver appeared on the Cactus Jack compilation mixtape JackBoys which also contains the final single to Toliver's album "Had Enough" featuring Quavo and Offset of the rap trio Migos.

2020-present: Heaven or Hell, and collaborations

In January 2020, Toliver appeared on Eminem's eleventh studio surprise album Music To Be Murdered By, on the song "No Regrets", which was produced by D.A Got That Dope. The following month, Toliver was announced to open for The Weeknd's After Hours Tour alongside Sabrina Claudio, however, it was delayed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. On March 10, Toliver announced his debut studio album on social media alongside it’s cover art before being officially released on March 13. The album features guest appearances from Travis Scott, Kaash Paige, Quavo, Offset and Sheck Wes.

Since his debut album, Toliver became a regular featured artist for the songs "Recap" by NAV, "Cafeteria" by Chase B featuring Gunna, "Clap" from the soundtrack of F9 (the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise), and "Lemonade" by Internet Money and Gunna. He also appeared on Kaash Paige's debut studio album Teenage Fever, Nas's thirteenth studio album King's Disease and Rico Nasty's debut album Nightmare Vacation.
