Background

Formed by frontman Murray Matravers in mid 2017,[2] Easy Life released their first single "Pockets" via Chess Club Records in November 2017[3] and subsequently signed to Island Records to release their debut mixtape 'Creature Habits' in April 2018.[4]

Following the release of the singles 'Frank' (July 2018)[5] and 'Nightmares' (September 2018)[6] the band appeared on Later... With Jools Holland (Series 53, Episode 2).[7]

The band finished 2018 by releasing their 4th single 'Temporary Love Part 1' (with b-side 'Temporary Love Part 2') in December.[8]

In January 2019, it was announced that Easy Life had come in 6th place in the 2019 Prospect Music Award.[9]

In February 2019, Easy Life's singer Murray appeared on the popular YouTube channel Colors performing the b-side to 'Frank', 'OJPL'.[10] They subsequently released their second mixtape 'Spaceships' containing the single 'Sunday' in March [11] ahead of their first trip to the USA, playing South by Southwest[12] and a sold out UK tour.[13]

They released the "Houseplants" single (with B-side "Spaghetti Hoops") in May 2019 and played the Spotlight Show at The Great Escape Festival,[14] plus Governors Ball Music Festival in New York[15] and headlined the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury Festival[16] in June.

Debuting as Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record' on BBC Radio 1 on 16 July 2019, the band released the single 'Earth' alongside a video commentating on environmental issues, shot at a plastic recycling plant in Morocco.[17][18]
