Edişa, Khojavend

Edişa or Vardashat (Armenian: Վարդաշատ) is a village in the Khojavend District of Azerbaijan. The village had an ethnic Armenian-majority population prior to the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war, and also had an Armenian majority in 1989.[1]

History

The village was captured by Armenian forces on 2 October 1992 during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and was administrated as part of the Hadrut Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. The village was recaptured by Azerbaijan on October 15, 2020 during the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war.[2]
