Eduardo de Almeida Navarro

Eduardo de Almeida Navarro, also known as Eduardo Navarro, is a Brazilian philologist and lexicographer.

Career

Navarro studied geography at São Paulo State University and afterwards letters at the University of São Paulo.

He is titular professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Science of the University of São Paulo and specializes in Old Tupi and indigenous education.

In 1998 he founded the organization Tupi Aqui ("Tupi Here") dedicated to promoting the teaching of historic Tupi and Nheengatu in high schools in São Paulo and elsewhere in Brazil.[1][2]
