Edward Stopford (priest)

Edward Adderley Stopford[1] (1810–1874) was an Irish Anglican[2] priest.[3]

Not to be confused with Edward Stopford (bishop).

The son of Edward Stopford,[4] Bishop of Meath from 1842 to 1850,[5] he was educated at Trinity College, Dublin.[6] He held incumbencies at Caledon[7] and Kells.[8] He was Archdeacon of Meath from 1844;[9] and Vicar general of Meath from 1848:[10][11] holding both offices until his death.

His wife Anne died on 13 June 1891.[12] Their daughter Alice Stopford Green was an Irish historian.[13]
