Emil Dumitriu

Emil Dumitriu (born 5 November 1942), commonly known as Nichi Dumitru or Dumitriu II, is a Romanian former footballer who played as a forward and made seven appearances for the Romania national team.[4]

Career

Dumitriu made his debut for Romania on 17 June 1964 in a friendly match against Yugoslavia, which finished as a 2–1 win. He went on to make six appearances, scoring three goals, before making his last appearance on 5 June 1968 in a friendly match against the Netherlands, which finished as a 0–0 draw.[2]

Personal life

Dumitriu is the older elder of Dumitru Dumitriu (Dumitriu III), who also appeared internationally for Romania and played for Rapid București before becoming a manager, and Constantin Dumitriu (Dumitriu IV) who won the Romanian championship with Steaua București.[5][6][7]
