Emilie Kornheiser

Emilie Kornheiser is an American politician who has served in the Vermont House of Representatives since 2019.[2]

Political career

In 2018, Kornheiser challenged incumbent Representative Valerie Stuart in the Democratic primary for the Windham 2-1 District seat.[3] Kornheiser won with 72% of the vote, while Stuart earned 27%.[4] Kornheiser went on to win the general election unopposed, with support from both the Vermont Democratic Party and Vermont Progressive Party.[5]

In her first term, Kornheiser served as Clerk of the House Committee on Commerce and Economic Development until March 2020, when she was re-assigned to the House Committee on Ways and Means.[6][7] She also serves on the Government Accountability Committee, the Vermont 2020 Complete Count Committee, and the Joint Carbon Emissions Reduction Committee.[2]

Kornheiser also serves as a commissioner with the Vermont Commission on Women, and as a town meeting representative and a founding member of the Windham County Action Network.[2]
