Entertainment One Music, or eOne's Music and Live[3] division spans records, publishing, management and live events. The division distributes its own digital content, with physical distribution handled by AMPED in North America[4] and German indie SPV GmbH in Europe.[5]

Entertainment One Music has 125 employees with offices around the world (New York, Nashville, Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Hamburg, Japan, France, and Australia)[6] and has a roster of over 150 artists. Its rights library includes more than 80,000 hours of film and television content, approximately 40,000 music tracks and includes the labels Dualtone Records, Last Gang Records, Light Records, and the catalogues of Koch Records, Death Row Records, V2 Records USA, and Artemis Records. With the acquisition of Round Room Entertainment, the company includes live entertainment production as part of its portfolio.[7]

The eOne music division's management group represents over 70 artists including Alice Ivy, Fred Again, Powfu, Tegan and Sara, Kaytranada, The Blessed Madonna, Lights and Arkells.[8]

Company history

eOne formed its music division in February 2004 as Koch Records to serve as the North American umbrella for Koch Entertainment.[9] It signed country, classical and rock acts including Ringo Starr, Joan Baez, Chris Brubeck, Bob James, and an exclusive distribution with Suge Knight's Death Row Records. In the 2000s, the company began to sign more hip hop acts.

Koch was renamed E1 Music in 2009.[10] It acquired IndieBlu Music, parent of Artemis Records, in 2010.[11]

With the name change in 2010 to Entertainment One Music, it relaunched its country division, eOne Nashville.

In January 2016, eOne acquired the music company Dualtone Records.[12]

In March 2016, eOne announced Christopher Taylor as the new Global President of eOne Music, bringing his music label Last Gang to the eOne roster.[1] Since his arrival at eOne, Taylor has been selected as "Indie Power Player" by Billboard for four consecutive years in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.[13][14][15][16]

In November 2016, eOne announced Ted May as the new Director of eOne Music in the UK to establish the first music division outside of North America.[17] The roster includes Big Zuu, Jelani Blackman, and Boston Bun.[18][19][20]

The eOne Music Canada roster includes The Blue Stones and The Wild!.[21][22] Canadian singer-songwriter Kathleen Edwards is signed to eOne-owned Dualtone Records.[23]

In 2016, Billboard ranked Entertainment One the No. 2 indie label in the U.S. (and eOne owned label Dualtone No. 7).[24] Lumineers (Dualtone) had 2 No. 1 songs on AAA radio and Alternative Radio and the group's gold album Ophelia debuted at No. 1 on the Top 200.[25] eOne also had the No. 1 rap album with The Game.[26]

In 2016, management firms Hardlivings and Nerve joined eOne's management division.[27][28]

In March 2018, eOne Music acquired Round Room Live.[7] Round Room were nominated for a 2020 Pollstar Award for its work on the Baby Shark Live! tour in 2019 under the Non-Traditional Touring category.[29]

In April 2019 eOne purchased music production library Audio Network for $215 million, adding a music publishing catalogue and extensive synch licensing business.[30][31]

In 2019, Tegan and Sara management firm Amelia Artists joined the eOne management division.[32] Later in 2019, Latin management and marketing team Entotal joined eOne's management division.[33]
