Ervin Randle

Ervin L. Randle (born October 12, 1962) is a former American football linebacker. He played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1985 to 1992 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Baylor University, where he played college football.[1] He is the older brother of Hall of Famer John Randle.

Playing career

Randle played a total of 105 games during his eight years in the NFL . On defense, he had a total of eight sacks and one interception. He also returned the ball one time in 1986 while playing for the Buccaneers. He played six seasons with the Buccaneers before being traded to the Chiefs for his last two years in the league. He was known for playing with intensity, to the extent that he was awarded The NFL "Hit Of The Year" Award in 1987.

Family and life after football

Off, the field, Ervin is a easy going individual with a very boisterous laugh. Ervin Randle married his first wife, Cindy, in 1983. They had three sons, Cameron, Perry, and Benjamin, and a daughter Lauren. After divorcing in 1994 he married his second wife, Bridget, in 1996.

Career after sports

After retiring from the NFL, Ervin eventually found himself applying for a job as a car salesman in the early 90's. Having no experience in sales or finance, he decided to stick with a domestic brand, Chevrolet, having grown up around American trucks in his younger life. After quickly realizing that his charismatic personality could take him far in a business based on relationships, he quickly began to utilize the approach of making a lasting impression with every client interaction. Within months, he was winning accolades as salesman of the month, and year. Within a few short years, he was promoted to management and eventually would help to manage one of four teams of Chevrolet salesman at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine that would be the highest annual volume Chevrolet dealer in the country multiple times between the year 2000-2014. When asked about his successes in the car business, he often remarks that "I only wished I had gotten in the business sooner!" He admits that his life growing up in rural Texas was rarely considered easy or luxurious, but he attributes the gains he has made in his life to his favorite movie quote "Amat Victoria Curam". Currently he owns Classic Chevrolet in Lawton, Oklahoma, where he and his wife can often be seen filming their next big commercial for a holiday sale.

His eldest son Cameron was killed while biking by a drunk driver on November 23, 2017.[2][3]
