European Union Agency for the Space Programme

The European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) is a future agency of the European Union, based on the existing European GNSS Agency with enlarged responsibilities. EUSPA will be in charge of ensuring the provision of Galileo, EGNOS services, the market uptake for the EU satellite navigation services and the Earth observation system (Copernicus) as well as the operational security aspects security and security accreditation of the different components of the EU Space Programme.

In June 2018, the European Commission proposed to transform the European GNSS Agency into the European Union Space Programme Agency.[1]

In December 2020, the European Commission welcomed the political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council on the EU Space Programme.[2]
