Executive Order 13991

Executive Order 13991, officially titled Protecting the Federal Workforce and Requiring Mask-Wearing (and also referred to as the 100 Day Masking Challenge)[1] is an executive order signed by U.S. President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021, which requires mask wearing on all Federal Lands and in all Federal Buildings. It also requires social distancing be maintained in federal buildings.[2]

Overview

The executive order requires individuals to wear face masks and to practice social distancing in all federally-owned properties, and on all Federal Lands nationwide.[1] This was the very first executive order signed by President Biden, and the first out of 15 executive orders signed that day.
