FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup
The FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (formerly FIBA Under-19 World Championship) is a men's under-19 only world basketball competition organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). From its inauguration in 1979, until 2007, it was held every four years. Since 2007, it has been held biennially. The current champions are the United States, who defeated Mali in 2019.

Participation details
Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, on 8 March 2020 FIBA Europe announced the cancellation of all summer 2020 Youth European Championships,[1] including the 2020 FIBA U18 European Championship, which would have decided the 5 European teams for this tournament. Hence, the top 5 European teams, apart from hosts Bulgaria, were chosen according to the Ranking Youth Men as of 4 March 2020:[2]
