Fabio Monti

Fabio Monti (14 July 1928 Ancona, Italy - 4 December 1997) was an Italian international football referee.[1]

Career

He officiated 3 international friendly matches in 1967–1971.[2]

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League (1) and UEFA Cup (4).[3] He refereed 122 Serie A matches in 1962–73.

Personal life

After active refereeing career he was sectional president of Ancona,[4] and then of the Marche Regional Committee. To honor his memory, after his death, the section of the Italian Referees Association of Ancona was named after him.[5][6]

Awards

He was awarded Giovanni Mauro Award in 1969 that is Referee of Year in Italy.
