Farid Khan (politician)

Farid Khan (Urdu-Pashto: فرید خان; born 16 July 1994, in Lahore) is a tennis player, motivational speaker and a sports journalist.

Education

Farid Khan studied at St. Anthony's High School, Lahore before joining Forman Christian College, Lahore. He took active part in sports and won bronze medal in tennis in the Punjab Olympics, 2011. He studied Mass Communication to pursue his career in sports journalism. He also served his university as President of the Sports Society. He was featured in Qaiser Abbas' book Shabash Kahani.

Career

Farid Khan started writing sports articles at the age of 16. He has written articles on the Ruhuna Royals, a Sri Lanka Premier League team. He was the correspondent of PakPassion, a sports website based in the United Kingdom. He has covered Pakistan's domestic tournaments as well as the training camps. He has covered the Faysal Bank tournament, the President's Cup and trophy, the training camp in Abbottabad and numerous notable press conferences. He has also worked for a firm named ContentCreatorZ in Lahore as a sports content writer. He has also interviewed Aqeel Khan, Pakistan No. 1 ranked tennis player and Pakistan's most prolific tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi. He has also interviewed Pakistan's No. 1 swimmer Kiran Khan, Pakistan's hockey legend Sohail Abbas and former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez. He has also played many local tennis tournaments, including the Long Beach U-18 tournament and the Lahore Open. He worked with PTV Sports during the London Olympics 2012 transmission and the English Premier League Season 2012–13.

He joined Peshawar Zalmi as Social Media Manager in 2018 and worked with the franchise for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League. He is currently working with Cricingif in the similar capacity and covered the T10 League in 2018 and the fourth edition of the Pakistan Super League earlier this year.

Television appearances

Farid Khan appears regularly on sports channels in the country. He worked with Waqt News as football analyst during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He is a regular on Dawn News these days in a show named 'Replay'[1]
