Gabriele Casella

Gabriele Casella (born 23 June 1994) is an Italian kickboxer, and the current WAKO World Light Heavyweight champion.[3] He is the former WMO World Light Heavyweight champion, and two time Italian national champion.

Martial arts career

During Grande Soirée de la Boxe he fought Wendy Annonay, and won the fight by a unanimous decision.[4]

He fought Peemai Jitmuangnon in September 2015, during The Circle. He won the fight by a unanimous decision.[5] He fought another Thai athlete, Sor Klinmee, 10 months later, and won by a first round KO.[6]

Casella fought Grégory Grossi for the WAKO World K-1 Light Heavyweight title during the Monte-Carlo Fighting Masters. He won the five round affair by a unanimous decision.[7]

Casella fought for the WMO World Light Heavyweight title in 2017, with his opponent being Lawrence Smithen.[8] Gabriele won the fight by a unanimous decision.[9]

He fought outside of Europe for the first time in 2017, during Kunlun Fight 62, when he fought Artur Kyshenko.[10] Casella lost the fight by a unanimous decision.[11]

After losing to Kyshenko, Casella won his next four fights. He beat Rémy Vectol by a first round KO,[12] Alex Negrea by decision,[13] Dani Taore by decision[14] and Corentin Jallon by unanimous decision.[15]
