George Blay

George Blay (born 7 August 1980) is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a right-back.[1]

Career

Blay played a total of nine seasons in the Belgian First Division with Standard Liège (1997–2002), Y.R. K.V. Mechelen (2002–2003) and La Louviére (2003–2006) before making the switch to Romanian football in 2006.[1]

In the 2006–2007 season he played in 31 from a total of 34 league games for Dinamo București helping the team win the 18th championship in the club's history.[2]

He was part of the Ghanaian 2002 African Nations Cup team, who exited in the quarter-finals after losing to Nigeria. He also featured at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship.[1]

In the 2011–2012 season he played for Royal Antwerp as a replacer for Bart Van Zundert.[3]
