Golgo 13 (film)
Golgo 13 (ゴルゴ13, Gorugo Sātīn) is a 1973 Japanese–Iranian action film starring Ken Takakura as the international assassin Golgo 13. It is the first live-action movie based on the Japanese manga series Golgo 13. It was filmed almost entirely in the Imperial State of Iran, with an almost entirely Persian supporting cast. It was followed by the film Golgo 13: Assignment Kowloon (1977), starring Sonny Chiba.

Plot
Contracted by an organization to kill Max Boa, the head of a worldwide crime syndicate responsible for drugs, weapons, and human trafficking, Golgo 13 (real name: Duke Togo) is sent to the Middle East to track down his target and eliminate them.[1]

Box office
It was the seventh highest-grossing Japanese film of 1974, earning a distribution rental income of ¥404 million in Japan.[2] This was equivalent to an estimated box office gross revenue of approximately ¥1.1 billion [3] ($4.05 million ),[4] which is equivalent to approximately ¥2.8 billion ($35.09 million ) adjusted for inflation in 2012.[5]
