Governor of Luhansk Oblast

The Governor of Luhansk Oblast is the head of executive branch for the Luhansk Oblast. Due to the current War in Donbass Luhansk Oblast is since 5 March 2015 assigned as a civil–military administration.[1] Hence the Governor of the Oblast is officially called Head of the Regional Military Civil Administration.[2]

The office of Governor is an appointed position, with officeholders being appointed by the President of Ukraine, on recommendation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine, to serve a four-year term.

The official residence for the Governor is located in Luhansk (currently relocated to Sievierodonetsk due to the War in Donbass[3]). Since 25 October 2019 the current Governor is Serhiy Haidai.[4]
