Guðmundur Þórarinsson

Guðmundur "Gudi" Þórarinsson (born 15 April 1992) is an Icelandic footballer who plays for New York City as a midfielder. He is also a well known singer in his homeland Iceland.[1]

Club career

On January 28, 2020, Þórarinsson joined Major League Soccer side New York City FC on a free transfer from Swedish first division club IFK Norrköping.[2]

Music career

Guðmundur is known as a good singer, and is the brother of Icelandic singer Ingó Veðurguð.[7][8][9] In 2018 he entered the yearly edition of Söngvakeppnin, a preliminary competition to choose Iceland's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.[10][11]
