Professional career

Goodes was a professional basketball point guard from 1994–2004, primarily with Maccabi Tel Aviv (1990–97 and 1998–99).[2] He was on the Israel basketball national team from 1995–99.

Coaching career

He was head coach of Maccabi Rishon Lezion in 2004–06.[2] Later, he was an assistant coach at Maccabi Tel Aviv from 2006–08.[2]

In June 2008, Hapoel Jerusalem hired him as its head coach, to a one-year contract with a team option for a second year.[2][3] He coached the team from 2008 until 2010.[4] Since then, he has been an assistant coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv.[1][5] In 2014, he won the EuroLeague title with Maccabi. Later in June 2014, after the departure of David Blatt, he was named the new head coach of the team.[6] He was fired on November 9, 2015, due to the poor results.[7]

On June 27, 2017, Goodes returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv as the assistant coach.[8] Goodes helped Maccabi to win the 2018 Israeli League Championship.

On November 30, 2018, Goodes returned to Maccabi Rishon Lezion as the new head coach, replacing Zvika Sherf.[9] Goodes led Rishon LeZion to the 2019 Israeli League Final, where they eventually lost to his former team Maccabi Tel Aviv.

On November 16, 2019, Goodes was named Israel national under-20 basketball team new head coach, replacing Ariel Beit-Halahmy.[10]
