Following the 2014 FA WSL season with Chelsea, Blundell was on the shortlist for the 2015 PFA Women's Young Player of the Year award. She was praised for her speed and athleticism, and her ability to play at right or left back and in the attack.[3]

Career

Club

Having joined Chelsea at the age of 16 after spells with Brighton and Charlton, Blundell stepped up to the first team in 2013 and scored on her FA Women's Super League debut against Birmingham. She went on to make nine appearances for the Blues while predominantly playing at left-back during Claire Rafferty's lengthy injury lay-off despite being naturally right-sided. She was among the nominees for the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2015 after a fine season the previous year, when she scored twice in 17 appearances.[4] She featured in the majority of matches in Chelsea's double-winning campaign in 2015 and ended up winning the club's Young Player of the Year award, which she shared with Millie Bright.[5] Blundell remained Chelsea's first-choice right-back throughout the 2016 season, starting 20 matches. In January 2017, she signed a new two-year contract.[6]
