Plot
The story starts with protagonist Dr. Prasad talking to the media about his successful career as a heart surgeon. When a journalist asks him about the toughest case he has handled, he starts to tell a story from his early days as a Doctor. At the start of his career, he meets a mischievous and lively young girl called Asha who has a history of heart disease. Her father, Mahadevayya, was looking for Dr. Prasad, willing to spend all of his money in order to help treat Asha. Prasad informs Mahadevayya that Asha has limited time before her condition becomes irreversible. Unbeknownst to Prasad, Asha has developed feelings for him. Asha eventually expresses her desire to marry Prasad to her father, resulting in her father begging him to accept her last wish. Prasad reveals that he is already married to Dr. Abhilasha, a former classmate of his. He rejects the proposal and estranges himself from Asha. Upon learning this, Abhilasha tries to convince Prasad to accept Asha's proposal. He agrees to go through with the marriage after thinking about the effects rejection might have on Asha. Although they marry, Prasad is unable to consummate the marriage as he feels too strongly for his other wife Abhilasha. One day, Asha goes to Abhilasha's house only to find her and Prasad being intimate. Heartbroken, Asha loses her temper with them both only to learn from Abhilasha's parents that they were both actually married before her and Prasad's marriage. This worsens Asha's condition, leading to her sudden collapse. To try to save her life, Dr. Prasad has to perform surgery. The media becomes curious to know what happened to Asha. The story ends on a happy note with Prasad calling both Abhilasha and Asha, letting everyone know the surgery was a success.
