I Can See Your Voice (German season 1)
The inaugural shortlived first season of the mystery music game show I Can See Your Voice premiered on 18 August 2020 on RTL. It is a German adaptation of the South Korean programme of the same name.[1][2]

Season chronology |
As a part of the network's Power Week special programming, a double-billed pilot week was aired.[3][4] Viewers have then received a backlash after the broadcasts ignored safety precautions due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[5] Because of this, production was halted indefinitely and thus ending the season prematurely.[6]
Gameplay
Format
Under the original format, both guest artist(s) and contestant can eliminate one or two mystery singers in each round, and the last mystery singer standing will perform a duet.[7]
Rewards
If the winner is a good singer, the contestant gets a main prize of €10.000. On the other hand, if the winner is a bad singer, the same amount is given to the winner itself.
Rounds
There are seven individuals of mystery singers standing on a platform to keep their identities concealed until the stage of truth performance.
Singer's visual
- Round 1: First impression (German: Der erste Eindruck)
- The guest artist is given some time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance.
Singer's lip-sync
- Round 2: Lip-sync challenge (German: Lip-sync)
- Each mystery singer performs a lip-sync of a song. Good singers are miming to own voices while bad singers are miming to other's voices.
Singer's evidence
- Round 3: Fact or fake (German: Fakt oder Fake)
- Each mystery singer has a video package to convince the guest artist, but with voices being distorted.
Singer's verdict
- Round 4: Cross-examination (German: Kreuzverhör)
- The guest artist and contestant must have then 60 seconds to interrogate the remaining mystery singers before making the final decision.
