Infinite (film)

Infinite is an upcoming American science fiction action film directed by Antoine Fuqua. Ian Shorr adapted the screenplay and Todd Stein wrote the screen story from D. Eric Maikranz's 2009 novel The Reincarnationist Papers. The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O'Brien, Sophie Cookson, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend, Toby Jones and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Originally scheduled for August 7, 2020, by Paramount Pictures, the film's theatrical release was delayed to May 28, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Premise

Evan McCauley is a man discovering that his hallucinations are actually visions from past lives.[1]

Cast

Production

It was announced in February 2019 that Chris Evans had entered negotiations to star in the film, with Antoine Fuqua set to direct.[2] In June, Evans dropped out of the project due to scheduling issues, with Mark Wahlberg entering negotiations to replace him.[3] Wahlberg was confirmed in August, with Sophie Cookson and Dylan O'Brien added to the cast.[4][5] In September, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Rupert Friend and Jason Mantzoukas were cast.[6][7][8] Tom Hughes was cast in October.[9]

Filming began in September 2019. Scenes were shot in central Cardiff,[10] Farnborough Airport[11] and an indoor ski facility, The Snow Centre, during a week long shutdown to the public.[12][13] Filming was also done in London, Mexico City, Guanajuato, Nepal, New York City, Scotland, Thailand and the Alps.[14]

Release

The film was originally scheduled for release on August 7, 2020,[15] but was delayed to May 28, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[16]
