In 1992, Dalton had joined The Lemonheads, who covered the song on their 1993 album Come on Feel the Lemonheads. The song was released as the album's lead single, becoming the band's biggest charting hit. It reached number one on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart in November, 1993 and remained on the top of the chart for nine straight weeks, a record at the time that they shared with U2; the record was later broken by Oasis, Marcy Playground, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters. The song reached number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Lemonheads' only appearance. The song also charted in Australia, Canada, and the UK; in the latter country, it was a top 20 hit. The song was also featured in the trailer for the 1995 film Before Sunrise.
