Irma Sandoval Ballesteros

Irma Eréndira Sandoval Ballesteros (born 1972) is a Mexican academic. She is the director of the Center for the Study of Corruption at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers, was a research fellow of American University's Center for Latin American & Latino Studies (2012-2013), and a fellow of the U.S. National Endowment for Democracy.[2] She earned her Ph.D in Politics from UC Santa Cruz in 2006. She was appointed as the Mexican Minister of Public Administration by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.[3] On 27 April 2020, she tested positive for COVID-19, making her the highest ranking Mexican official to test positive for the coronavirus.[4]
