Itamar Vieira Júnior

Itamar Vieira Junior (born 1979) is a Brazilian writer. He was born in Salvador, Bahia. He has a PhD in Ethnic and African Studies from the Federal University of Bahia. He is best known for his short story collection A oração do carrasco [The executioner's prayer] (2017), which was a finalist for the Prêmio Jabuti de Literatura, and for his recent novel, Torto Arado [Crooked plow] which won the Prêmio LeYa in 2018.[1]
