J. Grubb Alexander

Joseph Grubb Alexander (December 25, 1887 January 11, 1932) was an American screenwriter of the silent era. He wrote for 98 films between 1916 and 1932. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Florence Grubb Alexander. His father was from Scotland and his mother was the daughter of Capt. Evan P. Grubb, a Civil War veteran.[1] Joseph died from pneumonia in Los Angeles, California at the age of 44, and is buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.[2]
